Abstract : The purpose of this study is to find a model that explains the behavior of Inflation in Saudi Arabia, Using times series data for the period from 1970 to 2007. The Ordinary Least Squares was used to calculate the parameters of the model. To analyze the behavior of inflation in Saudi Arabia, a model is based on the monetary approach of inflation and by including the external factors that are expected to have impact on inflation in Saudi Arabia namely: the U.S Dollar interest rate, the real effective exchange Rate and imported inflation. The proposed model of inflation in Saudi Arabia has included a set of internal factors and external factors. There are: the growth of money supply, the growth of real income non oil, the global inflation and the Saudi riyal real effective exchange. The following results were obtained: The determination coefficient is very high at (R2=0.85), which indicates that explanatory variables explain most of the variations in the inflation of Saudi Arabia. The F statistic (F=62.99) also shows that the relation as a whole is statistically significant. Also D-W statistic was indicating the absence of autocorrelation. Lastly the standard error of regression (SER) was low. The growth of money supply, the global inflation and the Saudi riyal real effective exchange variables were statistically significant and with right signs, while the rest variables were statistically insignificant and hence were removed from the model
